Super smart imagining of what society would look like if the balance of (physical) power was shifted from men to women. This feels at once futuristic and very much rooted in current culture.

This is a family epic with a novel twist. I really enjoyed getting to know the Gold family and came away with some thoughts on how your choices influence fate and vice versa.

A nice twist on a story we think we know well and a good reminder that it‘s impossible to know what is going on inside a relationship from the outside.

I was expecting to love this book but found it pretty frustrating. For a character whose main virtue is listening to others, it‘s hard to believe Frank had such a hard time doing that with Ilse. The closing chapters helped save some face but disappointing overall.

Compelling story of empathy, self discovery, and the importance of human contact (not to mention having an impressive vocabulary).
