Among them is his handsome new research assistant Karl - the man Madeleine has instantly decided will be her husband. Charlotte, shy and retiring, is happy to devote her life to her father and her dull fiance Henry - until she sees Karl ... For Charlotte, it is the beginning of a deadly obsession that sunders her from her sisters, her father and even her dearest friend. Seriously though, this was the original cover in 1992. It made me do a triple take when I found out! For me this cover did not reflect what I read lol. Not that it makes the content of the book worth any less, I was just taken aback. 😜

Never judge a book by its cover, right? 😏

Pickpick

I read this a couple of years back when they revamped the cover (published originally in 1992).

This is one of my favorite vampire based stories. It just struck a cord with me. The main male and female have there ups and downs (patience people) but the romance is sweet. The author really sets the scene and pulls you into it. The book may be long for some (500 pages), so if you are looking for a fast paced novel- this isn't it.
