Every Crooked Nanny
Every Crooked Nanny | Kathy Hogan Trocheck
7 posts | 14 read | 2 to read
After ten years of cleaning up the dirt on Atlanta's streets, Callahan Garrity is trading in her badge for a broom and a staff of house cleaners. But, though the uniform is a little different, Callahan soon finds herself right back in the middle of a mystery when a client's pretty, pious nineteen-year-old nanny is gone ... along with the jewelry, silver, and a few rather sensitive real estate documents. Before she knows it, the meticulous Callahan is up to her elbows in a case involving illicit love triangles, crooked business deals, long-distance scams, and a dead body. Now she has to roll up her sleeves and start some industrial strength sleuthing to solve -- and survive -- this mess.

Another great read by Mary Kay Andrews. I have no idea how it took me this long to get into her books. Preferred this one to Happily Never After.

AmyG I love her books...so fun. I never heard of this one. Thanks! 7y
Reecaspieces @AmyG I think her first books written under her real name, Kathy Trochek, were republished under her pen name MKA. 7y
Clwojick @Reecaspieces yeah! I've noticed a few of her books, especially in this collection were under her pen name, and her real name. 7y

I liked this one and am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. I feel like this snazzy updated cover doesn't exactly match the tone of the book. This reminded me a lot of Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone series.

Started listening to this yesterday and I'm really liking it! The characters are entertaining and the audio narration is perfect. Love finding a new (to me) series to devour!

Bookzombie I enjoyed this series on audio too. 🙂 7y

So y'all know I've been devouring this series... We have a customer at the store who is moving into a smaller place, and needs to drastically downsize her library. I adopted her signed, first edition set of the whole series, along with Kathy's two Truman Kicklighter books too. I'm so happy to have these on my shelves.

raeintheworld Is that a Dolly Parton saint candle? I'm in love with it! 7y
johnnie_cakes @raeintheworld it is! A friend gave it to me as a gift 7y

It was a a good book. It moved pretty slow in the beginning and it took me a while to read it but I did finish it. I'm not sure if I will read the rest of the series.

#funfridayphoto 3 of my favorites:

Penny's Inspector Gamache series is excellent. I love the characters (Ruth!). Even though the murder rate seems high, I often think of moving to Three Pines.

The Callahan Garrity series is fun. She owns a cleaning business, but can't help returning to her cop ways and being a detective too. I was sad when I finished this series.

I have posted about Sue Grafton's series before. Kinsey Millhone is my pal.

MyBookLife I want to read Penny! I almost bought a book by her yesterday, but it didn't say on the site which book was the first in the series and I wasn't up for googling... 8y
Bookzombie @MyBookLife I understand. Still Life is the first book in the series. When you pick it up, I hope you enjoy it too! 8y
MyBookLife @Bookzombie Thank you! I think maybe I'll order it today then 😁😂 8y
bookishnerd One of these years I will read Louise Penny! 8y
