This was an enjoyable read. I love the juxtaposition of noir tropes with seaside Wales. Some laugh-out-loud moments and some tender moments as well. Will be hunting for more in the series!

My grandpa died in November. It was the end of a slow decline, mostly physical, but to some extent mental as well. In a way I'd already been grieving for years, so I kept it together in the immediate aftermath. But as time progresses I am sometimes blindsided by things like this passage that send a medicine ball of grief thudding into my chest.
