Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit | Nahoko Uehashi
Balsa was a wanderer and warrior for hire. Then she rescued a boy flung into a raging river -- and at that moment, her destiny changed. Now Balsa must protect the boy -- the Prince Chagum -- on his quest to deliver the great egg of the water spirit to its source in the sea. As they travel across the land of Yogo and discover the truth about the spirit, they find themselves hunted by two deadly enemies: the egg-eating monster Rarunga . . . and the prince's own father.

#WomenInTranslation Month! If you like YA fantasy novels, may I recommend Nahoko Uehashi's work? She writes wonderful, fun stories in Japanese. Not too many of them have been translated into English yet, but I'm eagerly awaiting more. #IntegrateYourShelf

Kenyazero Is Moribito translated? I bought the first book (I think! My kanji knowledge is poor) in Japanese and haven't kicked myself into muddling through it yet 😏 4y
effani @Kenyazero The first two books are! I know there are several more that haven't been translated yet, but the first two are great and I'm hoping the others are coming at some point. It might be fun to get the first one in English and read side-by-side with your Japanese copy? 4y
Kenyazero @effani Now that I know I can, that's what I'll do! Glad I spotted your post! 4y
