Wow what a rollercoster! I do enjoy a Dawson thriller 😊 I did guess the ending but was still really good.

At 2 a.m. on the morning of her 40th birthday, Sophie wakes in her bedroom, and finds a stranger at foot of her bed. The intruder hands Sophie a letter: the message is to be opened at her party, in front of her family and friends, at 8 p.m. Failure to comply won‘t end well. Sophie can only think of one person who hates her enough to do this: her fiancé's ex-wife. But what can the letter possibly contain? Why must it be read in front of everyone?

I wasn't 100% sure about sure about this book after 10% but I decided to stick with it because something about it was very addictive and I was intrigued enough to wonder what was going on. But I'm almost sorry that I continued because by the end, I realised that it was not a very exciting book. The story was a bit odd for me and I had moral objections throughout. I also hated the protagonist which made it a little unbearable. Sadly.

I have so many mixed feelings about this book. I'm doing an in-depth review on Goodreads and my blog tomorrow...but what I will say is that it wasn't what I expected. I suppose that's good for a mystery, but I felt frustrated a lot of the time. Good, not great. Could be better.

daydreamin_star I've not finished it yet and trying to work out if I should bother. 🙈 7y
Turtle_Taco @daydreamin_star without ruining anything, I was personally dissatisfied, but I would recommend finishing it :) 7y
daydreamin_star @Turtle_Taco I am very near the end, what the hell! Lets do it! 7y

This is a quick read, it's a great premise but it all ends a bit quickly and I don't know how I felt about the ending - loved it until the last 30 pages - maybe with some time It will sit better

WanderingBookaneer @gibblr and I tend to have issues with book endings. 😔 8y
