This one was a must read for all. Aside from the occasional rhyme that felt forced, it was really good.

Sitting in my second grade classroom waiting for the opening night of my daughter‘s play to begin. Gotta keep myself entertained somehow!
Saturday morning view in Connecticut! Still stuck slogging through this book, but hoping to push through today. Happy reading peeps!
Beautiful day out today!! 73 degrees on November 6th in NY? We‘ll take it! This one has been a little slow to start, but I‘m hopeful it‘ll pick up soon. Happy reading!
Fall vibes ??
A lot has happened in our lives since July, but I know
one thing for sure..." I'm so glad I live in a world where
there are Octobers." LM Montgomery said it right.
So glad to be back ?
Well COVID finally caught me. Guess I‘ll just work on my library stack!!
On our holiday trip to visit family, my daughter wanted to read in the car, not realizing it would be pitch black. My son ended up holding the phone flashlight for her to be able to read. Fast forward to Christmas and she got a book light in her stocking. Now she takes it with her everywhere…even in broad daylight 🥰
It‘s been a hot minute since I last posted on here! At the beginning of this school year, I was overwhelmingly stressed and in a book slump because of it. The last couple of months have been better, though. And now I‘m feeling the Christmas vibes in full effect!
Oh my heart! Please go read this so I‘m not the only one crying while reading a graphic novel. This one was SO good.
Really liking this book so far.
June has officially ended, so here‘s my monthly wrap up. Loving Amulet. Fave book is the tagged one.
Freaking out just a little...ok a LOT. I‘m so excited, but also seriously intimidated. This thing is a beast!
How can I tell her to go to bed when it‘s summer and she‘s reading?!? I can‘t!!! 🥰 (She‘s reading the tagged book.)
Tiny little book that packs a big punch. It‘s amazing how a few words can hold so much meaning and be so powerful. Of the three poems, American Bullet Points hit hardest.
“My face is mashed sideways against the trunk of a police cruiser when Kate dies for the third time.” #firstlinefridays @ShyBookOwl
Maybe the only thing 2020 was good for was reading 😂😂😂
I stole one of the books my daughter got for Christmas (the tagged one), so I guess it‘s only fair that Hearty stole my reading spot!
FINALLY!!! What a fight this has been with IKEA for about 4 months now. It doesn‘t perfectly line up with the others still, but I‘ll take it!! Now for the daunting task of rearranging 😖 Not pictured: stacks of books on the floor and all over the top of my dresser. Wish me luck!
Love this quote from Christmas Shopaholic. It‘s been a hot minute since I‘ve read any Shopaholic books, but this one is reminding me of why I loved them so much!!
Cozy reading spot where I can also admire the tree we managed to find today. We must have gone to at least five places before getting a tip from a friend and finally finding one!
I had the whole week off from teaching for Thanksgiving Break. Here are the results of my self-imposed Thanksgiving Readathon!
Luna sits in silent judgment while I decide whether or not to commit to Mull‘s Fablehaven series.
Well the majority of Tropical Storm Isaias has passed us in Puerto Rico at this point, but it‘s still a dark and stormy morning. Perfect for a cup of coffee and a book!
How has it taken me this long to read this book? You know, given all that happened with #georgefloyd I was reading this and thinking ‘my god how did Angie Thomas predict this?‘ But the cruel reality is she didn‘t. Sadly, it‘s the same real life story over and over and over again without any change in narrative. #useyourvoice #blacklivesmatter
Hi Group U! I know this is super late, and I apologize. I‘ve sent you all an email so we can have all our info in one spot. Please be sure to check and respond! These are what I was considering. Let me know what you think for Round 9 of #LMPBC @hes7 @Alfrazier21 @sweetpealsd
@WanderingBookaneer tagged me to post my #top6reads of 2020. With The Cruel Prince, I would include the entire series since I flew through them one right after the other. And although I read the first two books in the Scythe series last year, I highly recommend that entire series. Let me know yours!!
I had so much fun the last time I did this. I was just thinking about this the other day and happened upon it today! There were only two empty groups left, so I signed up for Group U. I‘m thinking YA. Sign up and join me!!! Check @suvata for the link to sign up.
Starting this new book at the recommendation of @WanderingBookaneer whose handle I completely forgot and had to look up...twice 🤦🏻♀️ Will be using my new bookmark from a friend who is taking found flowers on her quarantine walks and making laminated bookmarks from them. Let me know if you‘d like to get in contact for one!!
I don‘t know how I happen to be reading this advanced copy of a book that releases today at this very appropriate moment in time, but I am. I don‘t have adequate words to say all I want to say, but this is exactly it. Exactly.
Book: “A Song Below Water” by Bethany C. Morrow

March had many of us, including myself, feeling unable to concentrate on reading. I‘m glad my April picked back up, and I hope yours did too! 💕 One of my favorites is the tagged book. Happy reading!!
“...and I wonder if it‘s because grief feels like falling, like a rug being yanked from under you and you don‘t even brace for the fall because you want it to hurt.”
I just finished up the ARC of this book that released yesterday. I may or may not have ugly cried there a little at the end. 💕
Yes, I know I‘m reviewing the third book in the series while sharing a pic of the second book in the series. I just thought this cover went better with the watery motif 😂 This trilogy was one I had put off forever, and then I ended up flying through all three in a week. It was full of trickery, scheming, and twists. If you‘ve been holding out, take my advice and read it!
Finally getting around to this baby. I am typically so bad at finishing a series, so I‘m going to try to bang out all three in a row!
This is not at ALL what I was expecting but I‘m loving it so far!! Can‘t wait to see how it all unfolds...
A peaceful moment among the worldwide chaos. I knew something was going on because it was too quiet! Luckily, it was something good. 😂 They‘re both (re)reading graphics by Raina Telgemeier. We do love our graphic novels. When I snapped the pic my son asked, “Is this for Litsy?” I guess I‘m predictable. 🤷🏻♀️
I asked for his help in picking my next read. He promptly plunked down on this one and fell asleep. I‘m not sure if that‘s the one you pick, Luna, but sleeping on it makes it hard for me to read it!! #catsoflitsy
Oh Lord, where to even begin with this? There are parts that are so repetitive and mundane and then there are parts that have made me literally bawl my eyes out. I‘ll weigh in again when I‘ve finished. #releaseday #arc #sparrow
“I just really need it to be a love story. You know? I really, really need it to be that...Because if it isn‘t a love story, then what is it?” Not completely what I expected, but still liked it. A format that gives the reader insight the main character isn‘t capable of gaining. As in real life, memories and experiences are often clouded. The presence of both flowers and thorns, indistinguishable to those who live through such events as these.
This guy interrupted my reading with his crucial demand for pets. His face tells me he isn‘t sorry. Now back to reading!
About to finish this ARC of Ink in the Blood. I have mixed feelings about it so far, but that could be due to the fact that it has taken me forever to read. I started a new job after the new year and my reading rate has suffered immensely. This will make five books for February, which feels like failure to me. Here‘s hoping March is better!
