Pickpick

first read of the new year and it's my book club's pick for January. I've been meaning to read more of Martinez's stuff for years and this didn't disappoint. it reads like a wacky role playing campaign, wherein the protagonist is a Futurama character written by Terry Pratchett. super fun!

@Avanders OMG this was like reading Dr Who protecting the earth if The Doctor were a dalak! Thank you so much for this book.

Avanders Sounds awesome. I‘m so glad you enjoyed it!! 🤗 6y

Super weird. It‘s funny in places and I liked that. In fact I liked the voice, it just turned out that the world/premise wasn‘t my sort of thing. Hey ho.

So this is super strange, but laugh out loud at the same time. I still can‘t work out if I like it either!

Wednesday night book. Something a bit out of my comfort zone. Anyone read it?

Not bad for a guy without a spine."

I admit it, I originally bought this for that beaut of a cover, turns out that the story inside was a pretty laugh out loud romp that I enjoyed quite a bit!

I love it when everything all works out like that! ?

I was looking forward to reading this for book club, but the only emotion I felt when reading it was Meh. It was a quick read but none of it moved me or really stayed with me. I'd also been looking forward to reading his latest book and now I'm not sure I want to. The cover design is amazing though. #scifi #humor
