Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her fathers disappearance, her mothers erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. Jamesa mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her. Raine is drawn to Torins dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she cant stop thinking about him. Half the time, shes not sure whether to fall into his arms or run. Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about him. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only is she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life READING ORDER: Runes (book 1) Immortals (book 2) Grimnirs (book 3) or Grimnirs: Clean Version Seeress (book 4)

I hate this book series. I picked it because I'm a heathen and thought it would be really neat to see a book based on my faith but as a teen romance. Awful. In particular the descriptions of the Norns as evil, and the description of Asgard were so very upsetting that I wanted to throw my phone across the room. Some of the ideas were intriguing but others were so insulting I couldn't bring myself to finish reading it.

I just finished book 2 of the runes novels and I must say I'm a big fan! I'm absolutely in love with this series! I cannot wait to start book 3!! 💜

Pickpick

I have three words for you. Torin St. James. That is one hot Valkyrie. This is a wonderfully written story with great characters. I love how the author weaves the mythology into the story, and how it blends with the romance. I bet you cant stop at book 1. 😄

Mehso-so

The fantasy aspect of Norse mythology takes a serious back seat to the drama and relationship stuff. I don't care for that in my fantasy reads. Also, it never really got off the ground. A lot of build-up to nothing much. Rating: Meh.

LitHousewife That's unfortunate, because the cover is lovely. 9y
