Yes I have lots of books I‘m meant to be reading. No I‘m not going to read them, instead I‘m going to read the next Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes. No. I don‘t care.

This one more than makes up for the questionableness of the last Mary Russell book. Enjoyed this immensely & have been loving this entire series very much!

My favorite installment in the Russell/Holmes series so far! A good story, deep character development, and intriguing mystery, and a deep sense of place. Loved the continuation of established relationships and the growth of new ones. I only wish that the characters in this story featured in future books.

So, these books have been around since the 90s, but I just discovered them and I love them. This is the fifth in the series and maybe the best one so far. These are true to the spirit of Sherlock Holmes and full of wonderful historical jewels.

Sherlock Holmes spinoff need I say more.

The ultimate bedtime comfort reading. I adore Mary Russell, cranky feminist intellectual and Sherlock Holmes' unlikely partner in detecting and in life. I'm working my way through this series slowly and savoring each book--and luckily, I've still got several to go.
