#adventrecommends Day 8. If you haven‘t already checked out this dystopian, I recommend it. It talks about subjects like death and other such things

PaperbackReader This one is good. The second one of the trilogy is meh. Haven‘t read the last yet but my hope are high 3h

Day 8 of #adventrecommends ...

A favorite read of 2019

The Darkest Child: A Novel | Delores Phillips

I missed yesterday, so here is my #adventrecommends for Day 7. @emilyrose_x

An eye opening look at how skin color can be judged even by a mother. I was heartbroken as I listened to this #audiobook about how "the darkest child" was singled out and treated differently in a poor black family.

Non-fiction #adventrecommends. Hopkirk writes in a way that these British and Russian spies, adventurers, explorers read like fictional heroes playing a huge, masterly game of chess in one of the most mysterious, dangerous and incredible place in the world.

Behind #AdventRecommends door number 8 is most anything by Richard Paul Evans. While some of the stories might be cheesy the rest of the year, they are warm & fuzzy, hope-filled, and inspirational during the holiday season. I make it a point to read at least one of his stories every December.

#adventrecommends day 8!

I first read all of these in my teens and love all his books, but I‘m going to kick off with the first in the Corfu trilogy. I still haven‘t checked out the TV show; might be an idea for my off-time over xmas (I close up because dealing with last minute shoppers is not worth the cash).

Day 7 of #adventrecommends

Another favorite from 2019. This is the last in a trilogy that began with “The Power of the Dog” and continues with “The Cartel.”

vivastory I can't wait to read this. Cartel was one of my favorites of the year. 1d

Libby1 It is BRILLIANT, but not an easy read. 2d

Faves of 2019 #adventrecommends Dec 7

Perceptive, erudite, and emotionally astute. There is a cool veneer to her writing but with plenty of depth. I was surprised by how moved I was.

Catching up on #Adventrecommends, this is my recommendation for day 6

This book shows all the injustice in the world and how certain groups of people (African Americans, the poor, mental disability and reading disability) are more likely to suffer from this injustice

TiredLibrarian This book is so powerful. Loved it. 2d
