4.6 ⭐️ I‘m not gonna lie, I thought I was gonna have to DNF this book when I first started it. I don‘t know how I ended up with such a racy book list this month, but it‘s been a little much. However, this book turned out to be so much better than I thought it was going to be. The cliffhanger totally sucked, in a good way, and I can‘t wait till next month to tackle the next book.

I loved the story line and enjoyed the characters except for the main one. I understand that they were trying to make her an independent strong woman but it got a little ridiculous. Her stubbornness and not accepting anything almost made me stop reading this series. It did get better as I read through it.

Coercion does not equal consent! I feel I should lead with that. I guess I should have been prepared for the amount of sex in this based on the cover but I wasn't. This isn't my normal fare, but it was cheap and I do love fantasy stories set in this world. The story itself was quite good actually. For me the VERY graphic, not really consensual, sex distracted from that. This was book 1 and ends with a cliffhanger. I won't read more though.
