Great to read with a group and awesome study. Happy Easter!
Since I couldn‘t be with my family this Easter, I decided to spend some time reflecting on some of the women in the story. I read the Women of Christmas not too long ago, and this is just as insightful. It‘s amazing to me how trained our brains are to see the women in the stories as background, when in reality they had some of the most key story points.
“Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus‘ feet and wiped His feet with her hair.” (John 12:3a)
“Mary of Bethany was not one to use words when actions spoke louder. She, who once sat at the Lord‘s feet to learn and fell at His feet to weep, now knelt at His feet with ‘queenlike nobleness,‘ offering a priceless priceless gift.” Liz Curtis Higgs

As I continue this read over this holy weekend I would like to wish my fellow #christiansoflitsy a very happy Holy Saturday!
(Also if any of my fellow Littens are curious about the significance of each of the days of this weekend I'm happy to help! My mom doesn't get it at all, most of my family are atheists so I'm explaining things a lot, always happy to answer questions about what I believe!)
Getting my mind and heart right for Easter. 💙🎚
Thank you Amazon prime for getting this here fast. Looking forward to reading this throughout the Lenten season.
I knew this would be good, its Liz Curtis Higgs and she paints pictures with words, but wow, this one really spoke to my heart. Through the eyes of the women around Jesus before, during and after the crucifixion, I gained a new perspective of this amazing story. I relate to the gift God gives to us better now. It directs back to scripture which allows for time with the Holy Spirit. Along the journey, Liz brings her light, joy and humor! #christian
