I haven‘t properly listened to an audio book for a long time, apart from having Alexa read the odd chapter to me here and there. I‘m enjoying this one a lot so far, it includes some excellent material about the Holocaust and I‘ve learnt a lot even in the first hour.

The author presents a sober, unsentimental argument for why the Holocaust happened to Jews in Germany in the 1940s. "Our first responsibility as citizens is to do no harm. That is not a doctrine of passivity. Why? has shown how much harm doing nothing can do. It is a doctrine of activity informed by seriousness, prudence, restraint, and unselfishness." #bewarethebeginnings
