Book #28 of the year: “A History of Women in America” by Carol Hymowitz and Michaele Weissman

This is an older one, published in 1977, so it‘s missing a few decades. Having been published in the 70s, by Jewish women, about women, it‘s fantastically researched and studded with primary sources. There are undoubtedly more updated versions but the topic is one worth reading more about.

TODAY'S PROMPT: WOMEN IN HISTORY

I could list a number of books, but will go with these two that are historical fiction with strong women.

One not reviewed but about The Suffragettes is The Way of Beauty by Camille Di Maio. We owe them. 😍😍

Been reading about the early feminists all day cuz I fell behind on school reading. On the upside I feel better than I've felt all week.

If anybody on Litsy is interested in the #grabyourwallet boycott in the wake of Yellow Hair's inauguration, here's the link to the list of companies:

Certainly going to take an adjustment, but I'm happy to turn to local businesses instead.

(P.S. Cousin Jane refers to the current president as Yellow Hair as that, apparently, was the name Native Americans used in reference to General Custard. She and Mom dislike saying his name.)

Mom and Cousin Jane dressed as suffragettes for Santa Rosa Women's March. So 2 suffragettes and a hipster ran into a fellow suffragette holding a sign and then people kept stopping asking us for pictures. We're probably floating around a few people's social media now.
Nothing but love here. Don't mess with women on a mission 👊♀💪
