This is an old school sad story with those feel good moments that give you hope this time of year. It struck me, this book written in 1999 speaking of American treatment of Chinese and Irish Immigrants that in 2024 the story would be told of Hatian immigrants. It‘s not what makes America great.

Dear who ever makes the decision publish books with pages like these,
I would like to strongly encourage you to evaluate other options--preferably pages that are all the same length. Thank you.
Sincerely,
An upset reader who can not flip through the pages as desired.
*Richard Paul Evans, no offense to you, your book was just an example from my bookshelf. However, I did read your book, and it was just mediocre. Not bad, though.*
