The story begins with the launching of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-B and the mysterious disappearance of Captain James T. Kirk. Then seventy-eight years later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D receives a distress call from a remote scientific observatory. Picard learns that a newly developed super weapon has been stolen by a desperate scientist with an insane plot. Facing the most difficult task of his career, Captain Picard must seek out the one person with the power to help him, a person long thought dead: Captain James T. Kirk. Together, the two captains will be tested as they've never been before. And both men will be forced to make the greatest sacrifices of their careers to save countless millions from a madman with a plan for mass destruction.

This is actually the sixth #Meg book in the series which isn‘t in the database for some reason!! 😬 it‘s more of the same #shark fun- and a cliffhanger of an ending leaves me looking forward to the next book!! Hopefully the wait isn‘t too long!!! 🤞🤞🤞🦈🦈🦈

My library‘s shared this article on FB and I find it very interesting. 1981-1996. Old enough to remember rotary phones and grew up where the internet became an new way of life.

What do you guys think about this new distinction?

http://mentalfloss.com/article/533632/new-guidelines-redefine-birth-years-millen...

Pruzy Sounds accurate to me! Last generation to remember a time before the internet! Wooo! I miss Blockbuster (and Roger‘s Video to those of us in Canada) ☹️ 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Pruzy I miss blockbuster too! So many weekend nights killing time there and perusing all the movie titles. 7y
Pruzy @That-Bookish-Hiker Movies just seemed better back then! Never had the decision paralysis that comes with Netflix 7y

CouronneDhiver I HATE being called a “millennial” because I don‘t relate to the spoiled/entitled image that seems to be associated with the label. 7y
hermyknee @That-Bookish-Hiker This article is great - I definitely think that these distinctions are accurate (especially as someone who works with “post-millennials” who don‘t know what Blockbuster is 😰) 7y
MarriedtoMrT I‘m sticking to Xennial, I don‘t care what they say. 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker @CouronneDhiver I don‘t like being called a “millennial” either because I don‘t relate so I like how this article has another group for those that people talk about when referring to “millennials”. Now if we can just get everyone to call them “post-millennials” Lol. 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker @hermyknee same here! They make me feel so old when I talk about things like that lol. 7y
Purrfectpages I‘ve seen this defined and redefined for so many years now. I prefer to see myself as part of a micro generation as neither Gen X or Gen Y have ever felt fitting. 7y
GypsyKat When I was in high school, my friends and I were aware that we were Gen X. I‘m perfectly happy to just stay one, but tbh I don‘t care that much either way. Why do we all need labels? 🤷🏻‍♀️ 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker @GypsyKat I think the labels are dumb too. Each generation complains about the other even though we are the product of the other generations hahaha. 7y
GypsyKat @That-Bookish-Hiker hahaha! So true! 7y

#Bookhaul part 1. I have a huge penchant for book adaptations of movies and for radium age and silver age sf. I am a happy reader!
