And my #bookhaul from the used book sale. Mostly mass markets in a range of genres: some sff, some hist fic, some canlit, and classics. A few trade paperbacks, very much looking forward to the Heyer and another Helen Humphreys.
So very pleased to add these to my shelves! (Finding space on said shelves is, of course, another matter entirely...)
We went to a big used book sale yesterday and here's the kids' book haul - just look at all those Beatrix Potters! I can't resist a collection, especially at a super great price.
Not included in this stack are a baby shark colouring book and an Aladdin story/etch a sketch combo thing, both of which my kid found way too cool to let out of her hands.

Bk3 of last months #bookhaul is one of my favourite genres, SciFi. The 1st book in what‘s been called a new epic masterpiece, it tells the story of Hadrian, a hero from the galaxy spanning war against the alien Cielcin. But it‘s the REAL story. He was not a hero. He was not a monster. He wasn‘t even a soldier. On the wrong planet at the right time for the best reasons, he must fight a war he did not start for an Empire he does not love.
Second #bookhaul of the trip was larger than intended 😆 Light from Uncommon Stars is from Mysterious Galaxy, and the rest are from Verbatim Books. I allowed myself one book purchase at each shop. But: my friend bought Legends and Bonedust at Verbatim in the morning, then found editions she liked better at Mysterious Galaxy in the afternoon. So she justified buying the hardcovers by gifting me the paperbacks she‘d purchased earlier in the day 😂
Bk2 from last months #bookhaul is another Aussie crime thriller. Aboriginal policewoman Renee Taylor reluctantly returns to her small hometown from Brisbane to look after her mother. Sure her time will just be speeding tickets, she‘s drawn into the murder of a woman found by the creek on the outskirts of town. Connections to a 30yr old missing persons case of two women bring darker things to the surface, putting Renee in danger.
Today‘s small #bookhaul from Warwick‘s in La Jolla 💜 Sipsworth is actually from a library sale I passed on the way to Warwick‘s 😆 And I couldn‘t resist the tote bag!!
My #bookhaul from Boos at a Steal this afternoon. Tagged book is the one in the bottom. And hey, #catherbuddyread peeps, I found a collection of her interviews, speeches and letters! @Graywacke
Bk1 of my last #bookhaul (which I completely forgot to post last month)is this debut crime thriller by a Melbourne author. Set on an isolated Scottish island, which is by far one of my fave settings, 18yr old Alan Ferguson is found dead at the foot of the lighthouse, an apparent suicide. DIs Georgina Lennox & Richard Stewart are then trapped by a raging storm while questioning suspicious islanders who don‘t take kindly to mainlanders.
