This book! I‘ve feel like I‘ve been waiting for it forever. I wanted to devour the book in one sitting but at the same time I wanted to drag it out so that‘s what I did.

Maggie did not disappoint. I was so happy to be back with the Lynch Brothers and Adam Parrish. This book did not disappoint. It was everything from The Raven Boys Cycle plus more. The writing and the new characters were amazing!

I need book 2 now!

Yes! This is how I feel about the rain and trees. I LOVE them. It was one of the main two reason why I moved to Oregon without ever visiting. I know that was very risky but I‘ve never been happy and felt more at home or alive since moving here.

I‘m so sad. I was so excited to meet Rainbow Rowell but at the last min the festival changed her signing rules to being the first 100 people to buy a ticket along with one of her books (Pumpkinheads or Wayward son) which I already have. I can‘t even hear her speak on a panel because her time overlaps with a signing I‘m at before and they anticipate to fill to capacity.

I am just so sad and disappointed. She was the main author I wanted to meet.

MrBook 😳😔 I‘m sorry to hear that. *biiiiiig hug* 6d

AnansiGirl Not cool that the festival changed the rule at the last minute. 6d
That-Bookish-Hiker @LiteraryinLititz @Hooked_on_books @jas16 @AnansiGirl I love the Portland Book Festival but sometimes it feels like they don‘t value YA as much as the other genres. They put the all the YA panels in a beautiful church blocks away from the festival so it basically removed. They should have known Rainbow Rowell would have a huge turn out. I‘ve seen her other signings on Facebook and Instagram and the turn out is crazy. ⬇️ 5d
That-Bookish-Hiker Since they didn‘t make it ticketed from day one I figured they knew what they were doing. I made sure to be signed up for email updates for changes and never received anything. Although not meeting her was disappointing I did get to hear from some other fantastic YA authors panels. 5d

Landon & Shay don‘t like each other, they hate each other. But there is a fine line between love and hate.

This was a great romance and part one of a two part love story. The romance story features depression heavily. It really irritated me how the adults in this story were so childish about such an important topic than the teenagers. Besides that I really liked Shay and Landons dynamic. Can‘t wait for book 2!

17 yr old Aderyn (Ryn) is a gravedigger who only cares about two things: her siblings and her family‘s graveyard. But people aren‘t staying dead and buried. The magic from the forest which was once the fae‘s home is waking up the dead.

I really enjoyed this book. It was really refreshing to read a story about a gravedigger that included the fae. I also loved that it doesn‘t have to be a series. The story is wonderful all on it own.

I really needed a light funny book to read after finishing Imaginary Friend and this book worked wonderfully.

While I found this story funny and I loved how all the chapters were 80s songs but I really didn‘t like the whole black face and slavery thing. I know this is a book and it‘s not suppose to be taken seriously but that just left a bad taste. I thought this would be that campy horror humor sorry like HorrorStor but it wasn‘t.

I finished these two days ago and have just marinating in its greatness.

This is completely different from Chobsky‘s debut novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower but still has the great writing and great character. I could not put this behemoth of a book down. I was so hooked with the storyline and the characters along with Chobsky‘s writing style. A lot of characters but you can easily decider who is who.

The saddest moment in a readers life is when you have outgrown an author. Lol ok I don‘t know if everyone would be sad about that but I am.

I have outgrown KA and it makes me sad but when an author just keeps publishing the same story just with different character names then you have to admit that she may not have anything good to give when it comes to telling stories.

⭐️⭐️

Hooked_on_books It‘s such a sad moment! I saw a new book out recently by an author I used to adore and it barely even registered. But tastes change, so we say farewell and look forward to discovering new writers. 1mo

Mehso-so

This story starts 15 years after the The Handmaids Tale. I had no plans on buying or reading it but a friend of mine wanted to buddy read it so I said, “why not?” Even though I was fine with the ending of the first book.

The first half had me flying through the story I couldn‘t put it down but even before half way through I knew how this story was going to end and honestly it kind of irritated me. Aunt Lydia annoyed me the most

Contd 👇🏽

That-Bookish-Hiker And for those who have read this you may agree with me. I felt like this story wasn‘t necessary and didn‘t answer any questions. You know commanders are corrupt just based on what Offred went through so none of this was surprising. It was pretty great to learn more about the Aunts though. Besides that it was written well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (edited) 1mo
therealdealbeall I agree it wasn't necessary. I liked learning more about the day to day life in Gilead and it's formation, but I generally like that kind of thing in books where the world building plays a large part. 1mo

A prequel to the triology was announced andirons not sure how I feel about this since it‘s been years from when the last book was written and when the last movie was released.

Maybe I am feeling this way cause I‘m reading The Testaments now and if you‘ve read The Testaments maybe you know what I‘m talking about.

What do you feel about this?

pilardib I'm curious to say the least. I really enjoyed the first and second books of the trilogy. And I also love prequels so... let's see :P 1mo
cherinium I know what you mean about The Testaments. I felt like it ruined the scary, mysterious vibe of Offred's story by answering too many questions. I think I'm more ok with this since it's a prequel, though. (Also, it's been many years since this world was visited on screen.) There's something different about that than a sequel that wasn't needed clearly written just to profit off the success of a tv show. 1mo
That-Bookish-Hiker @cherinium you make some good points and have changed my mind. This is what I love about litsy! I was on the fence because I was thinking “it‘s been so long!” But you make such an excellent point when you say it has been years since the movie so this doesn‘t feel like a new release just for profits. 1mo
That-Bookish-Hiker @pilardib let‘s hope it‘s good! 🤞🏼 1mo
cherinium @That-Bookish-Hiker Well, changing your mind was not my intention, but I agree that Litsy is a great platform for us to express our differing opinions. And if it does result in changed minds, there's nothing wrong with that! Having a mind open to change is so rare these days. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if this new glimpse into Panem is worthwhile! 💕 1mo
