Paul Nash was a surrealist artist and a poet. This graphic novel explores what Nash went through after WWI. The black dog is the depression he faced after the war that he had a difficult time coming to terms with.
The graphics and layout of the panels in this book change as the story progresses and the artwork alone tells a story that is incredibly moving.
There is a beauty to this darkness that will stay with me for long time.
