Every Moving Thing That Lives Shall Be Food
Every Moving Thing That Lives Shall Be Food | Grace Chia
1 post | 1 to read
A Singapore emigrant muses about the HDB heartlands and her adopted British lifestyle. An undergrad gets culture shock travelling abroad to Canada for the first time. A vegetarian Western tourist finds a meatier version of Asia in a massage palour. A desperate male sniffs around a lone cougar. An expat wife seeks solace in a Kundera-quoting freelance artist. And a workaholic widower gets enlightened in his last days.
Grace Chia's Every Moving Thing That Lives Shall Be Food is a smorgasbord of short stories that tells of individuals whose appetite for a spicier taste of life is driven by hunger, human folly and unhealthy cravings.

#bookanddessert! I dropped by The Cookie Museum and they had these two flavors that I wanted to get before but were out of stock: mango cranberry black tea and lychee lavender. I'm such a sucker for unusual dessert flavors.

Chachic @Jaimelire I love the flavors that they have! I just wish they were more affordable.😁 8y
Chachic @tournevis Yes, in Singapore.😉 8y
Chachic @LeahBergen Me too! I use my old tin cans to store tea and washi tape.😆 8y
Chachic @tournevis I'm sure you also have good desserts where you're located?😋 8y
tournevis @Chachic Well yes, but super fancy rare cookies and fun stuff like that? Super hard to find. 8y
Chachic @tournevis Ahh yes, it's not that common here in Singapore either! If you have Crabtree and Evelyn there (not sure where you are?), they also have some nice cookies. They're a bit too sweet for me though. 8y
tournevis @Chachic We do have them, but most C&E stores around here only carry their beauty products and not their cookies. Which is sad. 8y
Chachic @tournevis Ah they're like that in Manila! So I buy the cookies for friends and family whenever I go home. 8y
