It gives me great pleasure to be able to match my book with my dessert. 🤣 #dessert #pie #blueberrypie #bookanddessert

Happy #MapMonday! Map of the Navy Yard in 1940s Brooklyn from Manhattan Beach: an intriguing story of a woman's empowerment working during WWII, combined with the seedy side of organized crime, and danger on the high seas. Pic of Jennifer Egan reading from it in DC. Delicious croissant & latte from Laduree in Gergetown during the same trip. #BookandDessert #Febinbooks18 @bookisglee @xenatine
This book has gotten a lot of buzz on romance Twitter, featuring a couple on a reality TV dance competition. I was hoping I'd enjoy it. Unfortunately, there was way too much dramarama for me. The pace was so slow that I found myself skimming some parts. I really wanted to enjoy this but sadly, I have to say that this wasn't my cup of tea.

Not much of a historical romance reader but this Pride and Prejudice retelling came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors, Lucy Parker.

Always ready to Kindle! Currently reading The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden. Only my second read for the year, it's been slow going because of post-holiday gatherings. I'm going to hibernate soon to catch up on reading. How many books have you read in 2018 so far? 📖📚

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone! Here's another title in my Best of 2017 reads: You Out of Nowhere by Jay E. Tria the first #romanceclassFLAIR title! An age gap romance with an older heroine, what we fondly dubbed "tita romance" (tita means aunt in Filipino) with a train meet cute. Hot guy reading Pride and Prejudice on the train, of course the heroine noticed him right away!

There was such a strong connection between Lily and Luc, the tension was palpable right from the moment they met. And it was so much fun to watch their romance unfold as they got to know each other better, and gained mutual trust and respect. This was one of those romances where both hero and heroine feel seen and understood by the other person. I love reading about characters like that!

Lucy Parker has quickly become one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. Pretty Face was released earlier this year, and I loved this age gap romance set in West End featuring a TV-turned-theater actress and the director who casts her.
Shirt says "Gimme HEA" (Happily Ever After), a requirement for #romantsy reads.

#bookanddessert: a Yule log made by my talented baker friend. The icing inside has Bailey's in it 😋 And I am having some vanilla tea from the World Tea House, Halifax, NS.
The plate is actually the lid from a tub of cottage cheese, which my friend uses to transport cake in individual portions (genius!).
Saturday afternoon in our part of the world but I still want to participate!
1. Dog eared pages, putting books facedown which damages the spine
2. Europe!❤
3. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas at 699 pages
