My #12Booksof2023 pick for June. The characters in this duology really stuck with me. There were plenty of moments where they made me want to pull out my hair and scream (the latter may have happened a time or two) but oh my… My precious babies… I adore them and will sooner or later pick up the follow-up books set in the same world. There‘s a massive “Already Own” TBR between me and those books though. 😅

This one JUST squeaked under being a 5⭐️ read because the ending felt a teeny bit rushed. I was iffy after the first book. Holy cow though, I really loved this duo-logy in the end. The characters are absolutely amazing. The world building is fantastic. There‘s a love interest that seemed forced at the beginning but I warmed up to it. Honestly I think Gar and Asher had more chemistry but I‘m not the writer. 😅🤣
