"But don't wait for something to happen before you begin to write; pay attention to the world around you, right now. That's what poets do."
readinginthedark Wow, talk about finding beauty in every day things! 6y
JMEdwards @readinginthedark Washing dishes has always been my least favorite chore. What a shocking poem! 🤯 6y
JMEdwards Also, I like this word "moiling". 6y

readinginthedark It's a good word! It's kind of funny: I used to love washing dishes by hand. I would turn on some folk rock and just turn my day or week over in my mind. It gave me space to consider things. Since I got used to using a dishwasher (at age 21), it feels frustrating and tedious to me. I get annoyed even washing one or two things. It's all about perspective, I guess. 6y
BarbaraJean I love “grey sacrament of the mundane!” I get frustrated with how quickly the dishes pile up around here (no dishwasher, although I‘m used to that). But I‘ve found that audiobooks make dishwashing much more pleasant!! 6y
JMEdwards @readinginthedark That does sound very zen-like! @BarbaraJean I will have to give that a try! 6y
