Holy crap, y‘all. I don‘t even know where to start.
PHOENIX is full of grief and processing and rebirth. (Also regular birth.) It‘s INTENSE, but it‘s heavily rooted in the relationships McRae and Maltese established in the earlier books, so don‘t start here. You need to KNOW these characters before you can exalt in how they figure themselves and each other out.
I‘ll never be over Alex‘s shifting view of Victor, in particular. DAMN.
