pickCami is the daughter of an A-list actress in Mexico City who decides to try her luck in the US. At her new LA school, Cami is assumed to be a poor immigrant and runs with it to see what people really think. This is a bit too after school special and somewhat superficial, but it deals with important presumption carried by many and I frankly really enjoyed it.

But instead of focusing on Cami‘s new freedom, the author explores racism & the immigrant experience. This is worthy of examination. It‘s too bad we lose Cami‘s personal story to the social one.
