Daring to Hope
Daring to Hope: Finding God's Goodness in the Broken and the Beautiful | Katie Davis Majors
6 posts | 9 read | 6 to read
When Katie Davis Majors moved to Uganda, accidentally founded a booming organization, and later became a mother through the miracle of adoption, she determined to deeply weave her life together with the people she desired to serve. But the joy of caring for one person at a time meant investing her heart fully into the many needs around her and often gave way to sorrow as she walked alongside people in the grip of addiction, desperation, and disease. After unexpected tragedy shook her family, for the first time in her life Katie began to wonder, Is God really good? Does He really love us? As she turned to Him with her doubts and shaky faith, God did not remain silent but spoke truths to her heart, drawing her even more deeply into relationship with Him. Daring to Hope is an invitation to hope in the God of the impossible—the God who whispers His love to us in the quiet, in the mundane, when our prayers are not answered the way we wanted or the miracle doesn’t come. It is about a mother discovering the extraordinary strength it takes just to be ordinary. It is about choosing faith no matter the circumstance and about encountering God’s goodness and presence in the least expected places, when life is a far cry from anything we imagined. Though your heartaches and dreams may take a different shape, you will find your own questions echoed in these pages. You’ll be reminded of the gifts of joy in the midst of sorrow and courage in the face of uncertainty. And you’ll hear God’s whisper: Your hope in Me will never leave you disappointed.

This was an very encouraging book! It can be very relatable to many people. Katie Davis Majors encourages the audience to always turn to God in prayer no matter what they may be going though. If you are looking for a bit of encouragement. I highly recommend Daring to Hope and Katie's first book, Kisses from Katie .

Not as good as her first book.

This is the 1st time I've found something in a book. "Maybe courage is not at all about the absence of fear but about obedience even when we're afraid. Though we tremble & feel uncertain courage means we press into a GOD who is certain, sure, steady. He carries us, lifts us. His unfailing love becomes our courage and hope. It's amazing that we can get exactly what we need by walking through what we never wanted."

I have a beautiful handmade leather bound journal with the most exquisite pages. It's where you'll find page after page of words that have stuck a chord in my heart. The pages are full of bible verses, quotes from friends, words from sermons and wisdom from books - and there are quite a few pages full of Katie's words. If you're looking for an example of God's love in this world, Katie is an incredible one.

GA_Bookworm07 Her book "kisses from katie" was beyond awesome 6y
