3 posts | 11 read | 3 to read
New 2012 paperback edition. Still grieving from their loss in the far East, Giovanni Vecchio and Beatrice De Novo discover that for them, all roads really do lead to Rome. But nothing is quite as it seems in the Eternal City. Joined by Carwyn and Tenzin, unexpected clashes greet them almost immediately, and rivalries churn beneath the glittering facade of the old Roman court. They quickly realize that allies might be enemies, and ancient rivals could hold the key to a deadly secret. Giovanni and Beatrice will be forced to call on old alliances, ancient power, and fierce cunning to survive for the eternity they both desire. Sometimes, finding the end means going back to the beginning. Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water finally meet with devastating results in the conclusion of the Elemental Mysteries.

I often feel like vampires are over done today. However, I have an appreciation for Elizabeth Hunter's Elemental Mysteries series. Her vampires have magic, and, for the most part, maintain their humanity rather than becoming unfeeling killing machines. This book primarily takes place in Rome. I think a vampire would find the city to be a giant, walking #scenesfromanitalianrestaurant. #rockinmay @Cinfhen

Cinfhen I'm loving the mashup of vampires and Italian food 😜 7y

Pickpick

This is book four and the last book in Hunter's Elemental Mysteries series. It's also my least favorite, for a couple reasons. I wasn't overly fond of the flashbacks and she kinda made this one a "new adult" book. I'm totally not opposed to that genre, but that's not what this series has been, so it threw me off. It's still a pick for me as it nicely ties off the ends of this series, while leaving room for the next. Um, #bookisholympics book 8!

MrBook Number eight?! Wow, you are kicking ass 😁👏🏻👌🏻! 8y
