The next thrilling and sexy book in the MARKED MEN series Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how tokeep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flashand sass hide the fact that she never got over the wayher first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to makesure that never happens again: she’s only going to fall in lovewith someone perfect. Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’sstubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from hisfinal tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to fillinga role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and nownone of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying tofigure out what to do with the rest of his life while keepingthe demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been gladto suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life andbecomes the only colour on his bleak horizon. Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfectmight just last forever...

I flicked the tab on the top of my beer and narrowed my eyes. I wasn‘t about to let this guy rain on my friend‘s day, even if he seemed #determined to. Those eyes that really were too pretty to be in such a sour-looking face narrowed at Nash, and I could literally feel the heat of uncoiling anger rolling off those wide shoulders. #QuotsyJune19

I really enjoyed this story, possibly more than Rule/Shaw. I felt that the emotional difficulties that they had to work through in order to have a relationship read true to life. I think there was the right amount of heat and angst, of promise and roadblocks, to make keep the story interesting. It was like a good blend of reality with a hot soap opera.

This series is over-the-top, but I was ready to play along for the sake of the story. Good writing, imperfect characters, and a fun read.
