Next up - another awsome cover
A gothic fantasy - I have only heard good things about this duology
I am about a quarter of the way in - there is a lot of world building in the beginning so the pace has been a little slow - it‘s starting to pick up

The Washington Post said it perfectly in their review
”Blair‘s fresh reframe should be required reading for any person who has sex, wants to have sex or is raising someone who might have sex in the future. This slender book has what it takes to be the foundation for a movement.”

After a run of nonfiction reads I have decided to pick up a comfort read. What is more comforting than a British murder mystery? So up next - Poirot book one.
Jolly good!

This is my book clubs February pick. I know absolutely nothing about Phosphorus - and this made me realize you only know what you know. I am grateful the author was able to convey scientific info in a way I could understand. I am also grateful this is a book club pick - cause I need to discuss this!

I‘m halfway through this nonfiction book. It is hard to read the pure hatred these men had/have.

Ibram X. Kendi reviewed
“When we wonder about the how and why of the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, White Hot Hate begins to provide an explanation. It is riveting and revelatory.”

This was my book clubs pick for July. I think this is beautifully written. I had no idea what this was about when I picked it up - I thought it was going to be about birds. I will definitely read more books by her (I‘ll just make sure I have a box of tissues nearby)

I went to an awesome bookstore - Old Fox Books & Coffeehouse when visiting Annapolis, MD recently. I picked this up - I‘ve heard about newly translated classics from Japan. I picked up a couple of vintage Agatha Christie books too. I seems Scout my beagle was just as excited to “devour” these mysteries. Thankfully I was able to get a copy from the library to finish it.

This was a very difficult subject matter. I pretty much read this straight through.
To be honest I probably sped through this to avoid having my mind sit on the horrible, tragic lives these women led.
