Has anyone read this? Is it worth it?

Bookwomble It seeks to reconcile Dick's book DADoES with the film Blade Runner (or, perhaps, the other way around) and was authorized by Dick's estate. It's interesting on its own terms, though I don't think it achieved its aims. I read the next one, Replicant Night, but still have the third, Eye and Talon, tbr. I keep meaning to revisit. 2y
SpaceCowboyBooks @Bookwomble Thanks for the info. I didn't know that there were others. 2y
EJsmama0729 Good to know. I love DADoES, so I will be looking into these as well. 2y

Never read any of the Blade Runner sequels written by K.W. Jeter but came across this today in a charity shop for 50p, so why not! 🤷‍♂️

I liked 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' By Philip K. Dick but I thought the adaptation expanded it into something spectacular, it's just such a cinematic masterpiece! 💫

Anyone read the Blade Runner sequels that were written?

What's your thoughts on the K. Dick story?

Bookwomble The Jeter sequels attempt to reconcile DADoES with Blade Runner. I liked them, though I think Jeter is only partly successful. I read them when published, so some time ago now, and can't give a detailed comment (which is probably a mercy!). 4y
TheNeverendingTBR @Bookwomble Yea, I see they've got mixed reviews but lean towards the negative! 😏 4y

Saw the new Blade Runner movie this weekend and I have to say I was impressed. I was pretty strongly against the idea of a sequel to such an iconic film, but this one delivered. And it didn't spoil the wonderfully ambiguous ending of the original. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the movie, not the unrelated Blade Runner 2 novel I've tagged in this post.

BarbaraTheBibliophage We watched the original last week, and saw 2049 today. I liked the sequel so much more than the original. But I'll never stop feeling that the original is iconic and amazing. 7y
