I too have felt compelled to do something because of a voice in my head/dreams. Although he felt foolish setting out on a long journey because of a dram he had, he ended up being anything but foolish.

This is cool story about a poor man, who has a dream that could save him. When he finally listens to the dream, he is led to treasure. It has a happy ending, and teaches people to work hard.

This is a great book for kids! It shows that no matter economic status someone can still follow their dreams and accomplish a lot!

This fiction picture book worn a silver Caldecott Honor. It is about a man named Issac who had a dream that he would find trustee near a castle. The book talks about his journey there and his encounter with a guard that said following your dreams is crazy and if he were to follow his dream he would find treasure at Issacs house under the microwave. Issac went home and did find the treasure right where the guard said it was. #ucflae3414su19

DeannaP An ESOL strategy I would use for this book would be to “teach questioning for classification” that would go along with the lesson where students are making inferences about the book. An E.D strategy that would go with this would be to “guide appropriate goal setting”. 5y

I stumbled across this Newbery Honor book I hadn‘t read yet and had to bring it home. I‘ve enjoyed Uri Shulevitz‘s work before and this was no exception. It reminded me of a modern (well, 70‘s modern) fable.

“Sometimes one must travel far to discover what is near.”
