Mehso-so

This was an intriguing look into how kids with autism think. Of course, this isn't a "one size fits all" telling; this is just one example of a high-functioning boy with autism who is learning how to engage with neurotypical people in a trial by fire.

This was a good, important book to read. While I may not have enjoyed it as much as others I've read this year, Martin's story & learning more about how non-neurotypical people think is important.

Pickpick

This quick read is a story about an autistic boy named Martin who travels to France with his mother, a movie director, & his sister. While there he makes friends & even falls in love for the first time. It can be hard to tell, however, real friends from those who want to use Martin for access to the actors staring in his mother‘s film. Martin is an engaging character & seeing the world through his eyes is a delight. An enjoyable read.

Love this cover and love getting up early in the morning for a little quiet reading before the family wakes. Anyway, diving into another preview book.
