Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled
Whiskey Sharp: Unraveled | Lauren Dane
9 posts | 7 read | 1 to read
The sharpest ache comes from wanting what you think you can't have Maybe Dolan has lived independent, free-spirited and unattached since leaving home at sixteen. Whiskey Sharp, Seattle's sexy vintage-styled barbershop and whiskey bar, gave her a joband a reason to put down roots. Cutting hair by day, losing herself drumming in a punk rock band by night, she's got it good. But a longtime crush that turns into a hot, edgy night with brooding and bearded Alexsei Petrov makes it a hell of a lot better. Maybe's blunt attitude and carnal smile hooked Alexsei from the start. Protecting people is part of his nature and Maybe is meant to be hiseven if she doesn't know it. Yet. He can't help himself from wanting to protect and care for her. But Maybe's fiery independent spirit means pushing back when Alexsei goes too far. Still, he's not afraid to do a little pushing of his own to get what he wantsher in his life, and his bed, for good. Maybe's more intoxicating than all the liquor on his shelfand he's not afraid to ride the blade's edge to bind her to him.

Loved this book! Maybe is great - she‘s had it tough, but she‘s strong and caring and fun. Alexsei is a perfect book boyfriend 😍😍 He‘s mature and thoughtful and is always there for support. He does dumb things, but you got to love him for it!
I‘m excited to read Book 2 in this trilogy - Maybe‘s sister is a super interesting character.

I‘ve been saving this trilogy for when I needed a pick-me-up.

Strong leads, a tough but vulnerable protagonist, a friends-to-lovers story arc, with some awesome supporting characters. Conflict from heroine‘s POS father, lots of family drama of varying degrees on both sides.

True to LD style, the storyline continues throughout the trilogy, so prepare for loose plot threads at the end. Focus is on the love story not the big picture.

Loved this book! A new author and series I very much enjoyed! The characters and storyline were awesome! Made me wanna be part Russian for a while 😈🤪🤯. ⭐️5/5 no doubt about it! The only reason I‘m not immediately going to Jagged is cause I got a Netgalley read next! My first one!

CoverToCoverGirl Enjoy your NetGallery read.. I‘ll be keeping an eye out for your review! 6y

Pros: lots of women supporting women in this one. Nice romantic leads and supporting characters. Well written, good use of humor.
Cons: heroine‘s Dad was emotionally abusive and controlling. I could have used more explanation on what his motivations were. Then again, the family angst was already overburdening the romance. I feel like we‘re being set up for a sequel.

New author!!!! Going in blind! Found the book 2 of this @ my local Chapters (in my fave 2/$15 shelf) Maybe at least a few months ago if not longer. Bought this so I could start the series properly! Love my Kobo!
