pickWell, that was fun—totally get why my son enjoyed it. My first Captain America comic (though I have seen all the movies) but likely not the last...A strange cube, mysterious flashbacks, and the return of an old friend in this one. Good writing and illustrations—love the black and white panels for WWII scenes—all the way through. And now to pass it on to my daughter who has been eyeing it since I picked it up. Recommended.
Lucky for me, my kids and I like to read a lot of the same things. We gave the tagged book to our son for Hanukkah and he devoured it in one sitting. That means it has to be good, right? I suppose I‘ll find out—can‘t wait to talk with him about it when I‘m done!
pickThis was tipping my toes into the Marvel Avengers kinda universe. The 2nd Captain America was loosely based on Winter Soldier I thought it would be a good place to start. And it was. That was 5 years ago. I especially liked the way the story unfolded, the flashback, the way the cube influences everyone's action, how it messes with Steve's mind and emotions. I like the plot and most of the graphics. It was much more in depth then I expected.
I'm kinda getting to the daily theme from the side. Triskel..Triskelion... I truly enjoyed Brubaker's time writing Captain America. It was my gateway into the Marvel Universe in comics. #uncannyOctober #spiral.
p.s. a triskel is a combinaison of three spirals.
