One of my lovely patrons came in yesterday with a belated birthday present for me. They know me well with all the pink, florals and Pride and prejudice!

I absolutely adore my patrons without presents and this just made my day!

The medievalish art on the cover of this giant graphic novel made me want to read it. I agree with other readers that it felt a bit long, though I still liked it. It was very educational on what life was like living as a nun and a scorned and punished woman on a desolate island. *Loosely inspired by the exile of Queen Elizabeth 1 by her sister Queen Mary in the 16th century.

This was fun! It was like a call-back to the stories I‘d read my kids about cute animals and their lives in a small town. Except here we have serial killers. And Samantha is pissed that someone is murdering people in her hometown, which she never does; she goes to the big city for that. What will she do??

A masterpiece! This is not only a love letter to DC Comics history, but a stark reflection of our current political times. Catwoman is released from prison 10 years after the death of Batman. Can she adjust to the new world order? Can she rely on old friends? Can she save her city?
Writer/artist/colorist/letterer Cliff Chiang (of Wonder Woman and Paper Girls) makes quite the statement with this project!

I have read a lot of pagan literature but surprisingly, have not heard of this old tale until now. I fell in love with it and want to see what else I can find about it. I‘m really interested in the bay of decapitated men🤣I enjoyed the heavily influenced Celtic art in this book. Ultimately, this story is about women in power but there are many themes of pagan lore, magic, moral choices, love, and death.

Since I am currently reading a series and after that am reading a strongly recommended book, I decided to roll my #bookspin result as the next in line, whether or not I actually get to it this month. It‘s unlikely, but I‘ll just keep adding to the list each time! My #doublespin is also underlined, but I won‘t be putting it on the next-up list.
