This is an excellent collection of indigenous Canadian stories. There are some powerful stories and mostly excellent art. The stories are mainly chronological, and I didn't really connect with the ones set in the 1800s, but once they break into the 20th century, there is so much discussed that I never knew. Unfortunately, it seems Canada was just as reluctant as the US to grant rights and agency to indigenous peoples, if not more so.

I love sitting at bars just to read. It's just as fun at a cafe, but with fewer people doing the same thing 😆

I started Chef's Kiss last night and it's pretty fun so far! This is definitely a #BlameItOnLitsy for me because I originally didn't look past the cover design of this one. #Comics #LGBTQIA

LiteraryinLawrence I loved this one! 1d
Kenyazero @LiteraryinLawrence I can see why! It's been a very fun read so far! 7h

This is the top banned book right now so I wanted to see what it was about. I liked the art style and it was easy to follow the story while adding some depth to the emotion with the use of flames and orange/red coloring. There‘s a lot of mature content (sex, masturbation, and suicide), but it‘s ultimately about finding your place in the world and that everyone matters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Written by the journalist son of Detective Tom Jensen, this graphic novelization of the Green River Killer case, and his father‘s part, is a bit of an odd endeavor, but thoughtfully created. Out of print, purchase second-hand, and well worth the $30. This completed my brief deep dive into this case (enneagram 5 #iykyk). Fuck you, Gary Ridgway.

vivastory I almost picked up that B&N tote the other day. Glad you liked this one 4d
britt_brooke @vivastory I bought it at our B&N on its last days in business. 😩 But it‘s my new favorite bag! 4d

I think this installment captures a really authentic piece not just of adolescence, but of being in a relationship - trying to figure out your own identity, goals, and dreams (independently of your family or romantic partner). I liked that all the characters supported and expressed the importance of having friends you can open up to!
