so-soI like the idea, but not the execution. The story is prolonged with events which don‘t contribute anything significant to the understanding the story or in order to deepen characterizations. The main heroine is interesting, thoughtful teacher who wants to become writer and her personal story is intertwined with many themes from contemporary Singapore...an enormous amount of ideas which intertwining is very ... 👇

Simona @JenP It‘s not a bad book, characterization of the Maria is quite good and worth to read it just because of that ... but the last quarter of the book, however, is a disappointment. ☹️ 7y
