Some reviews noted that there wasn't a lot of new ground forged in Chua's explication of America's blindness to tribal divisions when intervening in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and to the same factors in domestic politics of the Trump era. I'd disagree- it's rare to see a politically neutral work that pegs stuff on the left and right in the U.S. as an example of tribalism, rather than just the global left-right divide. Insightful and timely!
Amy Chua is super smart and an excellent writer. It was interesting to learn about political tribes throughout the world and I appreciated the perspective she brought to the topic.

Seems like appropriate 4th of July reading. Question: Am I the only loon that reads library books at Barnes and Noble?
Penetrating analysis of tribalism in USA, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Venezuela. I appreciated learning how and why our foreign and military policy has failed to take political tribes into account (and spawned ISIS) and how our own tribalism is like that of Chavez‘s Venezuela, but I want more! Much more! Tell me about Africa! Does Australia have a market-dominant minority and how does that affect their politics? 👍🏻👍🏻 #politics #unstyling
Amy Chua throwing it down! The thing is I may actually think she has a point! 😮😮😮 #politics #socialcommentary #holycow
I am loving this book and being very challenged by it. #unstyling #politics
#TBRtemptation post 3! Coming in 2018 Edition! Scheduled for a February release. The blurb does the title more justice than I could do, lol. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
