A former FBI agent is partnered with the enemy in this suspenseful male/male shifter romance from debut author Charlie Adhara Hunting for big bad wolves was never part of Agent Cooper Daytons plan, but a werewolf attack lands him in the carefully guarded Bureau of Special Investigations. A new case comes with a new partner: ruggedly sexy werewolf Oliver Park. Park is an agent of The Trust, a werewolf oversight organization working to ease escalating tensions with the BSI. But as far as Coopers concerned, its failing. As they investigate a series of mysterious deaths unlike anything theyve seen, every bone in Coopers body is suspicious of his new partnereven when Park proves himself as competent as he is utterly captivating. When more people vanish, pressure to solve the case skyrockets. And though hed resolved to keep things professional, Coopers friction with Park soon eruptsinto a physical need that cant be contained or controlled. But with a body count thats rising by the day, werewolves and humans are in equal danger. If Cooper and Park dont catch the killer soon, oneor bothof them could be the next to go. I‘ve decided that 2024 is the year I‘m gonna finish some series. And that means rereading to continue - so here I am, on audio this time, feeling super normal about the whole thing…

Alas, I can only read in English, but I did enjoy this cover. Very French!

A hard to follow yet fairly easy to guess mystery. The real gem here is the characters and their relationship and I'll probably read on.

Taking another recommendation from tumblr via this redesigned pulp fiction cover…

Currently day-dreaming about reading rather than paying attention to learning about the very exciting new hazard reporting system (spoiler alert : it could have been an email) in today‘s all staff meeting

It was slow and I struggled to really get invested in the characters or the mystery. Cooper thinks he‘s a great investigator, but he caves to pressure all the time and just makes terrible choices, especially for an FBI agent. I liked Park, but you never really learn anything about him. The mystery was entertaining and while I guessed some parts, a lot was a surprise so that was cool.

You know what? This book got me out of my book reading (as opposed to listening) slump. I‘d grown quite tired of my guilty pleasure MM romances, but then my friend recommended this. Look at that cover! Not a torso in sight. And the entire book was... nicely written! And funny! I‘m in awe, I had already lost all faith in the genre.

Larkken MM? I'm drawing a blank today! 🤷🏻‍♀️ 5y

The fact that this is the author's debut is incredible because it is beyond solid.

I loved the mix of police procedural/mystery and paranormal romance. I always wonder if all of it's going to work when there's such genre mash up happening in a book and was pleasantly blown away by how it did here. Plus the romance is wonderful and completely satisfying.

Looking forward to the next in the series. #romantsy
