More manga, this time from the library. I'm doing a booktube 30 volumes of manga in 30 days challenge this month and using it to try different series.

I read Promised Neverland today, and it is dark.

Leniverse The Promised Neverland is great! A big favourite with 3/4 of my family (the 4th person being too young to read it). And the whole series is finished now, if you want to go wild. 😄 12mo

Fourth book for the #transrightsreadathon completed yesterday. This one was a very dark romance. Our NB MC is pursued by a demon as they return to their hometown after their mother's death. The MC is deeply depressed and dealing with trauma.

I appreciate that both of the books of Moon's that I've read begin with CWs and TWs. This author is a new favorite.

Second book complete for the #transrightsreadathon after recovering from the book hangover that Iron Widow left me with.

There are potential CWs here because it depicts being a trans teen accurately, I would say. Gender dysphoria is definitely one of them. I'll be buying the rest of the series.

I was intrigued for the first half or so. Then it started to feel draggy, and I just wanted to finish. The endless misogyny.

I appreciate what the author was doing here, and the magic system was interesting. I'm just tired lol.

If you're considering reading this, I highly recommend checking the TWs first. It is so much nonstop trauma and darkness.

I gave this 3 stars on SG. While I liked it overall, there were a few aspects that bothered me, like the fat phobic comments the namesake character made and some internalized misogyny on her part. The audiobook was released in 2016, and I'm going to attribute the problematic stuff to that and give O'Roark one more try. This has some dark elements, so check the CWs if that's something that might bother you.

A fun read. Like others have said, this was spicy, but it was also sweet. And kind of swoony?

If you like bodyguard romance, check this one out. The main guy is pretty possessive, but that didn't bother me. You might want to check the content warnings for past trauma before you pick it up.

This blew me away. Dark, eerie, unique, creepy, it's more Gothic haunted house horror about parent-child relationships than thriller. If you go into this thinking it's going to be action-packed from the beginning, you're going to be disappointed. It starts off slow, and there are dual timelines--both from the main character's POV--and man was it worth the build up.

I recommend the audiobook. Xe Sands does a nearly perfect performance.

It's a quick read, but the epilogue could've been shorter and less explain-y imo. Also, there was some stereotypical characterization of some of the characters of color that made me uncomfortable.
