pick3-30-23: My 34th finished book of 2023! Growing up in the ballet world this book really kept my attention. Sisters Kate and Gwen are professional ballerinas in a company based on NYC Ballet. Early on, Gwen has left to return to their parents home to “get better”. Throughout Kate‘s narration you learn what has happened to Gwen. When not telling that story, Kate is explaining the ballet world: classes, rehearsals & performances while going crazy.
pickI wasn‘t expecting this one to be as dark as it was. But still, I found it to be a very compelling read about sisters aspiring to be professional ballet dancers. As a former dancer myself this one spoke to me on many levels. #balletthemedreadchallenge
I don‘t know if they perform the #Nutcracker in this book about two sisters who aspire to become professional ballet dancers but I‘ve heard great things about it and really want to read it!
