Avery is a “consultant” for therapeutic purposes.She was a therapist but lost her license and rebranded.Her new patients, Matthew and Marissa, have come to her to fix their marriage. She only does 10 sessions per patient/patients. This couple proves to be very different from her usual clients.A startling announcement from Marissa causes things to shift.

8-7-25: My 52nd finished book of 2025! Think Love Island kind of meets The Hunger Games but not quite. Not as violent but just as cutthroat. Lily is the first to arrive. She just wakes up there. Then the other 9 girls and 3 days later 9 boys arrive from the desert. They compete for prizes they can use around the compound but also do personal tasks for their own stuff. As people are banished, Lily must figure out how to be the last one standing.

8-2-25: My 51st finished book of 2025! A prequel to The Hunger Games series, this tale tells the story of Coriolanus Snow, the eventual president of Panem. He is likable and detestable in equal measure. When he is chosen to be a mentor in the 10th Hunger Games, the first time a mentor was used, he receives a tribute in Lucy Gray Baird, a singer and show-woman, who might just lead him to victory and love if it can show him a better way of life.

7-27-25: My 50th finished book of 2025! For the majority of this book we are learning everything from the perspective of Blake. High powered executive, engaged to beautiful Krista, living in a brownstone on the Upper West Side. His life is perfect, until it isn‘t. As things start to fall apart, Blake and Krista decide to bring a tenant into their home to make some extra money. Little by little, Blake‘s entire world will collapse. Is it the tenant?

7-24-25: My 49th finished book of 2025! Wow I really enjoyed this one! It‘s written backwards. Literally goes through the years from 2023 to 1984 in reverse. Wendy and Thom are a married couple. How they became who they are is very interesting but I can‘t give anything away. I‘ll just say the last page is a huge aha moment that circles back to the beginning. Love that! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣4️⃣9️⃣

7-20-25: My 48th finished book of 2025!This one was a love letter to San Francisco in the early 90s and noir films.Walter has moved to SF to learn to love a life of joy. They are creative types and Walter falls for them immediately.For the next few years they are inseparable and Walter, a gay man himself, questions his identity often. Clever usage of noir films as titles.

7-12-25: My 47th finished book of 2025! Webster is young EMT when he goes on a call that will change his life forever. This is where he meets Sheila after she‘s driven her car into a tree, drunk. After her recovery he makes it a point to visit her to make sure she is doing ok. 7-9-25: my 46th finished book of 2025! It‘s been a good year of memoir reading for me. I‘ve loved Al Pacino since as far back as I can remember. The Godfather was on in my house constantly. I‘ve been following his career and to be able to hear about it in his own words really brought it to life. Rough upbringing, sick mom, South Bronx lifestyle and through it all he became a movie star. He doesn‘t seem full of himself. He just loves his art.

7-2-25: My 44th finished book of 2025! From two of the actresses of The L Word on Showtime, this book delves into their lives before during and after the show aired. It‘s definitely a love letter to those struggling with their sexuality and those desperately trying to come out to their families and the world. I loved The L Word when it aired back in 2004 and am thinking of revisiting it now. I‘m also going to listen to their podcast Pants!

Jane the bookish woman who works in a charity shop, Siobhan, the life coach from Dublin and Miranda the tree surgeon. After a few Valentine‘s Day mishaps a different story unfolds full of love, kindness and loss. Taking place between 2015 and 2021, it was a book I‘d recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣4️⃣3️⃣

6-24-25: My 42nd finished book of 2024! Happy couple Luke and Cam seem to live an ideal life. Until one day, Luke does something unthinkable and Cam gets pulled into the drama. Cut to 7 years later and Cam is trying to put the pieces back together. Great story. Definitely a good twist. Likable flawed characters. 4-30-25: My 31st finished book of 2025! Book 4 in the Sisterhood Series. Nikki along with her Sisterhood ladies are ready for their next mission. She has just returned from an island recuperating from a mental breakdown. She is finally talking to her ex Jack. 4-27-25: My 30th finished book of 2025! A novella about a woman who has lost her husband and is trying to navigate the next steps of her life while being bombarded by crazy mishaps and coincidences. Satirical is in the title and I guess it was, you definitely can‘t take it seriously by half way through, but it was entertaining and luckily a super quick read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣3️⃣0️⃣

4-26-25: My 29th finished book of 2025! Tegan has found herself pregnant and alone, with only the help of an attorney, Jackson, who is trying to facilitate a binding monetary contract with the man she had a one night stand with. 4-20-25: My 27th finished book of 2025! When a random hook up becomes something more, Rue, a scientist, can‘t figure out how to manage all the new feelings. An introvert by nature, Rue and Eli become entwined in a very sexual relationship that simultaneously involves his company taking over the company she works for, for reasons she will understand later on, but not before she learns how to accept she is actually allowed a happy ending.

4-16-25: My 26th finished book of 2025! Brooke has just moved back to her hometown with her son Josh after being away for 11 years. Her parents have died and left her their home so she is starting over. Unfortunately the only job she can get is as a nurse PA at the local penitentiary where her high school ex is living out his days after a murderous night that Brooke witnessed and testified against him. Her old best friend Tim is there to help.

4-13-25: My 25th finished book of 2025! This one was an interesting true crime book about one woman‘s murder at the request from her doctor husband who was running a pill mill with pagan motorcycle gang members. It was a sad tale that ended on a low note. But chapter 7 was thrilling. A doc I used to work for in 2006, was the focus of this chapter. His same involvement with the pagans and being a prescriber of opioids in 2015 led to his arrest!

4-9-25: My 24th finished book of 2025! When Ramona and Grace were young girls they only had one dream, to be on the hit show In The Dollhouse. As young adults they finally get their chance to make the dreams come true. Being picked to study all of the arts at the Dollhouse Academy, where the famous TV show gets all its stars from, is everything they ever wanted. But as things tend to do, it all looks better than it really is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣4️⃣

A murder mystery plot, mothers and daughters, a missing baby, a bad care home manager, a prison librarian, lots of twists and turns and in the end it was all cleaned up perfectly. 4-3-25: My 22nd finished book of 2025! Soft historical fiction tale about one of many “women‘s hotels” in the NYC area during the times ranging from late 40s through early 60s. For the singletons of the time, these hotels offered young women a decently priced place to lay their heads upon arriving in the Big Apple for the first time. Following many storylines of the girls who lived at the Biedermier Hotel it was at times fun but sad as well.

3-30-25: My 21st finished book of 2025! I really didn‘t like this book. As a fan of Palahniuk novels, I had much higher hope but they never came to fruition. I‘m not one to bail on a book so I saw it to the end hoping it would turn around and get better but that did not happen. Cecil and Otto are brothers in the English countryside and they come from a family of murderers. They are spoiled men who act as if they are still children. ⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣1️⃣

3-23-25: My 20th finished book of 2025! 1950. Ruby, a high school sophomore, is in a program in Philadelphia that could garner her a 4 year scholarship to college. Eleanor, attending Howard University, is studying to be an archivist. Both fall in love with men they probably shouldn‘t. Their paths will cross in ways they can‘t imagine. The time period is fraught with racism and classism but these women try their best to prevail. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣0️⃣

3-19-25: My 19th finished book of 2025! Slow burn to a big twist ending. Nicky Hunter has a correspondence with a famous detective story author, Sebastian Trapp. Doubly famous due to the 20 year old disappearance of his wife and young son. When he finds himself on his death bed he reaches out to Nicky to come spend some time with him and help him get his story down on paper. She gets way more than she bargained for. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣1️⃣9️⃣
