David Hume (1711-1776) was the most famous Scottish philosopher of the Scottish Enlightenment and one of the greatest thinkers of all time.

Hume addresses a number of subjects in this book. Particularly interesting were his examination of the reason of animals, and criticism of religion and validity of miracles. Like Thomas Paine, he was ahead of his time and through his writings encouraged people to reject dogma and adopt science and reason.

David Hume is honest; he knows when things might get boring 😂

This was surprisingly readable for a primary work of philosophy 😆 Will likely have to read it again (possibly with commentary from my brother the philosophy major) to get the full benefit, but I'm glad I took a whack at it.

Texreader Oh I‘ve read Hume back in philosophy undergrad class. Good for you that you got something out of it. I really have no memory about his philosophy except I know I read him 6y
