I‘m a bit disappointed.
It started very interesting but at about page 160-170 the helplessness and boringness Johann feels is mirrored in the book and/or the story line.

I started to lose interest. Don‘t exactly know why.
It was confusing that many people had the same name. And, sorry, not sorry, I missed “explanations�.

Maybe a good book but not what I hoped it would be. My fault.

But: Great cover‼��

I treated myself with a new book. A real new book. Look, there‘s still folio around it.

My last about 6 weeks were very strenuous and I am recovering only slowly. Very slowly.

That was why I placed an order for this book I wanted to read for long when we were looking for presents.

Jan Philipp Reemtsma‘s son Johann wrote a fictional book about his father‘s kidnapping.

The first reaction of a 13-year-old to the abduction of his father: What about today‘s Latin exam? The absurdity of a situation like this.

The Reemtsma abduction case was a very huge one in Germany in 1996. I rememeber reading about it as a kid. This retells the story of the point of view of his 13yesr old son. At some points one can really feel the annoyance of not being able to do something or to help the adults. He is forced to do nothing in a situation he cannot cope with. He always expects his father to die.

I wanted to read this one for a long time - it retells the events of an abduction from the point of view of the abducted person‘s 13-year-old son. It was a big case in Germany in 1996. I do remember reading about it in the newspaper when I was a kid.

Gerade erzählt Johann von Franz den Hund. Banale Alltag einer normalen Familie macht es umso greifbarer.
