An exceptional book for children about emotional intelligence and learning to deal with the many ranges of human emotions. Some days I feel mad. Some days I feel sad. Some days I feel smiling-ear-to-ear glad...Emotions can be strange, sudden, and even overwhelming at times. Through thoughtful words and expressive images, this book guides us on a journey through our imagination... to a place where everything feels calm again.

#AMonthOfSongs Day 9: #ThereWasThisGirl who wanted out out, away from here to retreat into the confines of her imagination, where things make sense, everything is quiet, and she feels safe. This is a great addition to the growing list of picturebooks that feature authentic emotions, and how a young girl is able to manage and regulate feelings that seem to be bigger than one‘s self. eeclayton Great article, thanks for sharing! I especially loved the 3rd tip: affirm that the feelings are legitimate. Even as an adult it's important to just accept that it's normal to feel how you feel. 7y

This is an awesome picture book that shows how nature and family can help us deal with negative emotions. I used to babysit the author and can't wait to have her sign it. If you have a classroom, library or young children, consider adding this beauty to your collection.
