All I can tell you is what I remember, in the words that I have. Hayley tends to her bees and follows the rules in the only world she has ever known. Until she witnesses the impossible: a drip from the ceiling. A drip? It doesn't make sense. Yet she hears it, catches it. Tastes it. Curiosity is a hook. What starts as a drip leads to a lie, a death, a boy, a beast, and too many awful questions.

My daughter had to read this for school so it was in my audiobook list after I had borrowed it for her when she had trouble getting through the paperback earlier this year.
Sometimes I'm a "grab the first thing I see" kinda person, and this was my first grab this week.
Curious as to what is being selected for year 7s, this book has me intrigued so far, at only an hour in. A dystopian world of a population of 300 & some bees.

I wanted to love this book more than I did. It‘s not that I didn‘t like the book, I just didn‘t feel particularly attached to the characters or the story. I love Dystopian usually, but the book fell short for me, which is a shame because the cover is beautiful. 🐝
