Now a USA TODAY bestseller! Casey knows the truth. But it wont set her free. Casey Coxs DNA is all over the crime scene. Theres no use talking to police; theyve failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before shes arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesnt matter anymore. But what is the truth? Thats the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder arent adding up. Casey Cox doesnt fit the profile of a killer. But are Dylans skewed perceptions keeping him from being objective? If she isnt guilty, why did she run? Unraveling her past and the evidence that condemns her will take more time than he has, but as Dylans damaged soul intersects with hers, he is faced with two choices: the girl who occupies his every thought is a psychopathic killer . . . or a selfless hero. And the truth could be the most deadly weapon yet.

My dad recommended this one, and I was a bit leary because I often find Christian fiction to be corny.

Even as a believer, I can get to rolling my eyes.

But I ended up liking this suspenseful story about a young woman wrongfully accused of murder and the guy who is hired to track her down.

I didn't realize it was part of a series, but I liked it well enough that I'll probably continue, and that's saying a lot!

If you like a fugitive styled book with smart MCs this is your jam.

This was definitely a fast paced mystery win a strong plot and really interesting characters. I definitely feel like the author moved quickly and didn‘t give the reader a chance to be bored. It ended a bit abruptly, but I suppose that is to entice the reader for the next book. I definitely liked this one.

I've been in a reading rut as of late. Just had baby #2 and my emotions and hormones are everywhere.
My friend's husband died this morning. Wasn't even 40. Two young kids. I can't imagine what she and her kids are going through tonight as they try to go to sleep, knowing they won't see him in the morning. I'm sitting here, being selfish, and wondering how I would react if put in that situation. It is weighing heavily on my heart.

Pretty good. Suspenseful opening scenes. I felt invested in finding out the who and why behind the crime at the beginning. Another side plot is added—it is good, but it isn‘t as interesting as the main plot. I had to suspend my disbelief a few times, but that didn‘t bother me. The ending is wide open, so I‘m glad I already have the second book on hand. I‘m super curious about where these characters are headed.

#2017Book103
Casey didn't kill her friend Brent, but the evidence is stacked against her, so she hits the road. A few days later, Dylan, a recently returned soldier with severe PTSD, is hired to track her down. But as he gets closer to catching her, he starts to discover that the people he's working for might be the real bad guys. And maybe Casey is being honest in her claim of innocence. This was a great thriller, but a bit preachy at times.

Ugh, this book had so much potential in the beginning. A man is dead and all signs point to his friend Casey as the murderer as you follow her on her flight across the country. Just when you think you're going to start getting answers and closure to the plot line, all of a sudden a deep religious theme enters that seems to come from out of the blue. And then Casey decides to solve a case while she's running from police?!? Disappointing.
