Meh. Not for me. It was just okay. A little much for me in parts. I just didn‘t like the tone and a lot of it just didn‘t sit well with me for some reason. Not my fave.

I just thought this one was super slow and I just couldn‘t stay interested. It took me forever to get through it and I hated all of the characters. There just wasn‘t enough to make it worth it for me in the end.
I hope all of this author‘s books are as good as this one. I loved this so much. What a fun story with so many memorable moments and great characters. I loved the setting and the story and everything about it. I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book and get another glimpse into this world. Definitely hoping it‘s just as good!
Excellent. Definitely a must read about Viola Davis‘ life and work. Truly inspirational and well written/ spoke. Loved this one.
Super cute and super fun. Who doesn‘t love Dolly Parton? I enjoyed this light read and loved it in audiobook because she has such a fun way of engaging the audience. Definitely a great book to lift your mood!
This was really cute and different. I enjoyed the story and the way it was written. I definitely thought it was a unique idea and a good one on audiobook for sure. Fun little romance story to listen to!
This one was just okay for me. It was pretty bleak and I just thought the beginning started so different than where it went through the book. I just felt like this was really disjointed in spots and I felt myself losing interest frequently. I liked the characters a lot, but overall, it didn‘t offer anything new to this topic and fell a little flat for me.
I honestly didn‘t know a whole lot about Elvis before I read this and I thought it was really interesting to hear Priscilla‘s perspective about his life and their relationship. Lots of really interesting stories and I learned a lot about the king of rock.
I may have to reread this one but overall just okay for me. Started strong and then lost my interest. I loved the culture and the characters but it took awhile to get going and once I got distracted it got hard to get back into it.
I loved hearing about Elliot Page‘s life. I think he is an absolute spectacular actor and I can‘t think of many things he‘s been in that I don‘t love. This book was so scattered, though and I didn‘t really love certain parts because I was getting confused on why it kept going back and forth. I just think it needed a little bit more structure and focus. But, still really interesting!
This was a really deep and informative book about mental health and a family‘s struggle with the things they went through. Very interesting and also sad, but definitely very real and relatable.
I absolutely loved this book even more than I thought I would. Learning about Matthew Mcconaughey‘s life and how he wound up in some of his most famous roles was so interesting. I loved the tone of this book. It was so much fun listening to this one. He is a very engaging narrator and I looked forward to listening to this one every time I got a chance.
Super scattered and hard to follow for me. The timelines jumped all over the place and I couldn‘t keep track of what was going on which made me lose interest. I loved the cult part of it and thought that would be enough, but it just wasn‘t for me.
I really wanted to like this one, but it was so slow. Nothing really happened to keep my interest for how long it was. I feel like I dedicated so much time reading this and was just dissatisfied with the way it came together. It just didn‘t offer new to this type of dysfunctional family genre that is so popular and it was just way too long for me to not really be super interesting.
I just couldn‘t get into this one. I think it‘s really just the genre for me is so hit or miss and this one just did not grab my attention at first and I just had such a hard time getting into it. Not really my cup of tea, but I can see how some people would enjoy this one!
What an important book. This was so beautifully written and truly unique. I don‘t think I‘ve really read anything like this before. I love Clover and how insightful she is. The growth in this book is so beautiful and touching. This book is one that really makes you think and reflect and will inspire you to live each moment like it‘s your last.
I‘m giving this book 5 stars because it is the first book in a long time that made me stop halfway and react to what I read. At first, I wasn‘t sure about reading a book about Covid. We lived through it and that wasn‘t fun and I didn‘t want to relive it in fiction where I go to escape, but this wasn‘t what I expected at all. Really unique story with a really interesting twist. I am surprised at how much I liked this book.
I really enjoyed this book even more than I thought I would. It wasn‘t super suspenseful, but I was sucked in from the very first page. I loved the relationship shops that were built and then the mystery of the whole story. So many mysteries to solve and none of them were what I expected. I highly recommend this one even though it isn‘t super action packed.
Definitely tough to hear about all of Matthew Perry‘s struggles with addiction and his health, especially after his passing. This was really interesting book to hear about his life and what he went through and some backstory about his career. I really enjoyed this one, even though it was tough to know that he passed away shortly after he wrote it.
This was just okay for me. It had an interesting idea mixing different tropes together from horror, but it was honestly a bit silly most of the way through. I know the idea was probably to poke fun at the genre or even the fact that it is set in the present, but it was a little over the top in a lot of ways and drug on at points. Cute, but not really something I loved.
I really liked this for the most part. It started out really strong and kept momentum but then kinda got lost about halfway through. I thought it could have been a little bit shorter than what it was. The author got caught up with the story within the story and in parts it made the story drag. But, the suspense level was good and the twists were entertaining.
This was such a quick read and kept me completely sucked in from the first page. If you were a fan of shows (books) like Pretty Little Liars or Revenge, then you will love this one. The setting with the vacation island for the rich and the cousins reuniting there to find out family secrets was a lot of fun and lots of twists and turns kept the story going until the very end!
This was pretty interesting. I liked the way the format was in lists and it was brief. It was a little bit repetitive in parts, but I do think a lot of what the author wrote about very motivational and thought provoking. I think for anyone who needs a push to reset the way they are thinking, this is a great book to remind you of the things we probably already know but need to hear again.
This was a really powerful and mostly sad book about a boy who is the lone survivor of a plane crash and his life after dealing with this trauma. It is written in alternating timelines of during the flight and after and it incorporates stories of the people on the plane and Edward‘s life after. It was really well written and interesting to read the varying viewpoints. This is definitely a book that will be hard to forget.
This is very timely with the controversy over the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case getting so much attention recently. One would have to assume that some of the parallels are no coincidence even down to the names and parts of the story. It‘s an interesting take on what would have happened if the story had ended differently. I‘m not sure how I feel in the end of this one because both characters are unlikable in their own ways but sympathetic, as well.
I wasn‘t sure if I would like this book because fantasy isn‘t my normal genre that I gravitate to, but I took a chance and I‘m glad I did. I suspect that this book (series) is going to be very big and we will be hearing a lot more about it. I think I loved it so much because it wasn‘t typical for a fantasy book with heavy world building, etc. This felt real and like it could be something that would happen. I loved it and can‘t wait to read book 2.
For a book that is horror, I thought this was really dry. I struggled to pay attention with this one, but I know so many great stories have come from this. I like the concept and the overall story, but it was slow for me and a bit boring.
Every time I read a book by Katherine Center, I say it‘s my favorite by her when I finish. I find myself saying that again, but I‘m sure I‘ll change my mind when I get to the next one. This book was excellent. Strong female character with a somewhat predictable ending, but broke the standards of most romantic comedies that you read. I loved everything - writing, story, characters and would love if she made it a series. I need more.
This was pretty fun and nostalgic to read about the different books that have been turned into movies and tv shows, a lot of which I have read or seen or both. It really read like a college essay, just spouting information. It wasn‘t really something that was super engaging, but I did appreciate it and enjoyed it. A reluctant pick for me. It was good, but nothing spectacular for me.
I‘m not sure how I feel about this book. It was super dark. I think I need to read the second one now to really know what to think. The characters are really interesting. Each of them has something different to break your heart and the book itself is just very bleak. I did not expect it to end the way it did which is probably why I am conflicted on how I feel about it as a whole.
This was a really interesting memoir. It definitely was very similar to the documentary but got into a little more detail about Pamela‘s life before she met Tommy Lee. With all of the different takes on her past, I found it really interesting to hear about everything in her own voice. Her story is sad in a lot of parts, but also inspiring to learn about how much she overcame in her life to end up strong and reflective about it today.
I didn‘t love this one quite as much as the first book, but it was really cute. I liked how it centered around a different character, but still kept the same people from the first book and followed more of their storyline, as well. Stacey and Daniel are a really cute relationship to read about and I‘m excited to see what happens in the next book!
I liked this story a lot but the format was tough to get through in parts. Not a lot of chapter breaks and the last chunk of the book was a long one. Although, I did like how each chapter was written differently. I liked the relationship between Sally and Noah and the characters in this book. It felt very real to me and I enjoyed the fact that for a romance about a celebrity and a writer, it wasn‘t over the top for the most part.
I want to love this book like so many people do, but I just can‘t see what it is that everyone likes about it so much. This is my second time reading this one and I just am not a fan of the characters and it‘s so slow. I do love classics, but this one is just tough to get into, in my opinion. I‘m glad I gave it another shot because I do think I noticed some things that I didn‘t before, but it still isn‘t a favorite for me.
I enjoyed this book for the most part. There were certain elements that were definitely a fresh take on the normal takes that we have gotten from Rear Window. It reminded me a lot of The Girl on the Train, but it definitely took a turn. I like that Sager finds a way to make a story that is familiar unique in his own way. Definitely a slower burn than his normal books, but once it got going, it was hard to put down.
I loved reading this because I loved She‘s the Man and it was based off of this play. I never got a chance to read it before and it was really fun to see where the movie came from and to notice how well they did with remaking this classic into something modern.
I liked this one for the most part. It was steamy in parts and a good story. I liked the characters, but I just didn‘t love the writing and it got a little repetitive at some points. But, I am definitely in it for the long haul to see what happens with Tessa and Hardin. Book 2, here I come.
I loved this book. It was so inspiring and I learned a lot from reading it. I loved learning about different runners and techniques. This was such an excellent book to read for anyone, but especially if you are a runner.
This definitely kept me guessing throughout the whole book. There were a lot of twists. Some of them I didn‘t guess and some of them I did, but for the most part, I really liked this story. It felt very real to me in a lot of ways, especially the emotion that Marin goes through and the other characters when faced with so many difficult situations. Definitely a good thriller to keep you wondering what will happen.
This one was absolutely worth every bit of praise it got. I loved Adelaide so much. This character is eccentric and beautiful and speaks to my soul. There is too much to say about this book. It‘s heartbreaking and happy and just perfect, in my opinion. The writing is truly a work of art and I am so happy that I read this book. Adelaide is going to stay in my mind for a very long time.
I loved this book so much. It was so much fun. It definitely had Stephanie Plum vibes to it which I really enjoyed. There was mystery, romance, friendship and humor. I just enjoyed the characters and the story so much. It was a light read that I couldn‘t put down and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
This book was definitely worth reading even after seeing the movie. There is a lot of detail and it is such a psychological experience of what goes through Jessie‘s mind while she is trapped with no way out and the thoughts of survival and fear that she goes through. Even though I knew how it would end, I was still in suspense through the whole book. Definitely a book that will stay with me.
In my opinion, this was definitely worth the hype. I know it was a little bit predictable at certain points, but I still loved it. The characters were just so well portrayed. I felt so many emotions when I was reading this book and I really do think it will be one that I think about for years after I read it. I think the author unpacked a lot in this book in a very graceful way while also writing the story beautifully.
This book was truly beautifully written and well thought out. The author really touched on so much in such a short amount of space and this book had so much depth about being a mother and the emotion of all of it. I loved the different relationships and how real this book felt. The ending was a little bit rushed for me, but overall, I really enjoyed this book.
I was really looking forward to this book, but it‘s a pass for me. It was way too long and drawn out. Nothing happened for so long. It pulled you in with the premise of a murder and finding out what really happened and then just drug on for so long about so much that really didn‘t enhance the story. This needed to be cut down by a lot and refined. It just wasn‘t for me.
Absolutely beautiful writing and story. I loved the varying timelines of the different women and how it all came together. This truly was a magical read about strong women who overcome so much in their lives. I loved this book and can definitely see why it was so popular when it came out. Definitely another top pick from me.
This was a super quick book to read. I really liked the story line. There were a lot of twists, but I think I was expecting a little more suspense or something more from this one. I did like the way the author dealt with mental illness in this book and didn‘t shy away from the impact of mental health issues on an individual and those around them. I thought the story was well constructed and I enjoyed the writing.
I have mixed feelings about this book. I felt like it was super slow to really get into anything and it was so short for such a slow burn book. I did love the strong women and the ending and the overall idea of the book, but it just felt like it took forever to get into anything. Definitely creepy in some parts, but super mild for a book that is labeled horror, in my opinion. Overall, very good writing and a good story.
Excellent. Beautiful writing. Beautiful story. At times difficult but relatable and eye opening in a lot of ways. I loved the characters and the rawness of this book. It was so true and honest and portrayed grief in a way that was real. I see why everyone loved this book and I‘m so glad I finally got around to reading it. (Edgar especially loved that it consumed so much of my time to allow me to snuggle with him while I read 😊)
This got a lot of mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it. I flew through and never felt like I didn‘t want to finish it. There was a lot of suspense and some good twists. I felt like the ending was a little flat and I expected a bit more from it, but overall I really enjoyed this one. I loved the book within a book and the retreat storyline. It reminded me of Nine Perfect Strangers, but more sinister.
