pick#3 in this series, set in 1760, during the French and Indian War. Mercy Lytton is descended from the female lead in the first book. She is plucky and fiercely independent, which I love. She works an undercover military mission with Elias Dubois, who has a complicated story. I loved these two characters but found the progression of the story less exciting than it could have been. Still, I enjoyed it and loved that it was easy reading!
