I was socially obligated to attend an indoor pool party in January. I was anxious about being forced to socialize and make small talk. As always, a book to the rescue. ❤️

Also, this is the February pick for the book club I‘m in. #whenthemenweregone #bookclub

Crazeedi I read this one, it was good, a very interesting story based on true events. 6y

Easy historical fiction of a woman who coached high school football during WWII. Based on true story. Made me think about how women's expectations have changed in many ways.

Bailedbailed

I couldn‘t tolerate an expert in & lifelong lover of football so stubbornly believing she wasn‘t suitable to stand in PURELY BECAUSE SHE WAS FEMALE *even when* there were no available men *and* as oth men encouraged her to take the job. It was sev pages too long for me before she stepped up. I never bail. But her extreme kowtowed reluctance offended me viscerally. Everyone loves a reluctant hero. She on oth hand was a willing victim of sexism.

Great story,⭐⭐⭐⭐, based on a true story about a woman who coached a high school football team during world war 2 in Texas. The tenacity, courage, and strength of Tylene is evident, she never made excuses or played the victim, as she stood up against the culture of her time. Better know a lot about football plays and lingo to really enjoy. Recommend

Blaire Interesting. Never heard of this one. 6y
Crazeedi @Blaire I just happened on this on overdrive, it's a nice book, especially if you like football. The woman was amazing 6y
